Texas’ Texting & Driving Laws Are Changing

The rules of the road are getting a significant change in the coming months, and it could be for the better. Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 62 into law, officially making texting while driving against the law. Under the new law, all forms of “electronic messaging” are now against the law while operating a vehicle.

Unfortunately, a significant portion of Americans cannot seem to put the phone down whenever we operate a motor vehicle. Each day in our country, approximately nine people are killed and more than 1,000 are injured in car accidents that are reported to involve a distracted driver.
